The road to hell is paved with good intentions

It’s been quite some time  now. Can’t believe I’ve ignored this site for as long as I have. Now things are not so good. The house is as much of a shambles as it ever has been, and we’re in a need for some cash. Things have gotten expensive, and we’ve fallen a bit behind. Now, we’re just trying to catch up.

One of the things I’ve come to realize with the hoarding is that we’ve kept things thinking they had some value. “I’m not going to throw that away. I’m sure I could sell it for something.” In looking at all the crap we have, it’s really not worth that much, if anything at all.

Think I’m going to organize some kind of eBay yard sale and try to sell everything off that can bring in even a buck. I’ll total it up and post the sales here. Let’s see how underwhelming that total is.

    Hello!

Pink Sneakers Productions is currently casting for TLC’s new documentary series tentatively titled, “Life Chronicles.” Each episode documents the day-to-day lives of people affected by different life experiences. One of our episodes will focus on compulsive hoarding. We are currently looking for people who have been directly or indirectly (family member of, etc) affected by hoarding.

I came across your blog and I really appreciate your openness and honesty….And your sense of humor! You seem to have an incredible story, and someone whose strength can be so inspirational to others.

We realize the sensitive nature of the topic and we think sharing the stories of people actively coping with this could help let others know they are not alone- that millions of people are dealing with this. This show is being produced to foster awareness and outreach.

These are unique and sensitive topics to be covered through a true, documentary style format to inform and educate our viewers while preserving respect for all parties involved.

If you, or someone you know may be interested in participating in this project with us and sharing his or her story we would love to hear from you. Please contact us at [redacted] and feel free to check out our website at http://www.pinksneakers.net.

We thank you in advance for sharing your story.

Thanks for the kind words. I don’t know that my wife would be too excited to go on national television and show off our mess. Also, I wouldn’t put myself in the “dangerously compulsive” category of hoarders, so I’m not the best representative of the problem, nor would I probably make for great TV. If you don’t mind, I’ll write up a blog post about your project and point anyone who happens to find me to you.

Good luck with the project. Please come back and let me know when it’s going to be on. I’ll be happy to plug it. Granted, I don’t have many readers, but that could change, no?
